Bernie Bowe was awarded the KDFL Top Manager for August Award 2015 this week. Bernie s Manager/Player for Portlaoise Ladies AFC for the past two years. She is integral to the team both on and off the field and juggles the two roles with ease as she has proved again and again. Bernie ss an outstanding centre back and an even better manager.
She led the team to double victory last year in their first year together when they went unbeaten in the KDFL Countrywide Forklift Training Division 2 securing promotion to Division 1 and they also won the KDFL shield. Portlaoise Ladies AFC are now holding their own in the KDFL So Fresh Entertainment Division 1 where they are currently top of the table and through to the semi final of the KDFL shield.
Bernie also plays on the KDFL Women’s Representative team which she has done so for the past two years and was awarded vice captaincy last year. It has been a great couple of years for Bernie and the PAFC Ladies and receiving such an award from the Kildare & District League tonight is yet another great achievement for Bernie, and acknowledges her dedication and hard work for the team.
